FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How big of an image can you print on a shirt? How big can I make my artwork?
Our maximum print area is 15.5 inches by 21 inches per side for t-shirts. Most t-shirt images are 11" to 12" across the chest, however it's up to you to decide how big you want your graphics to be, and your artwork should be created to that size. It's all a matter of your taste.
What format should my artwork be in?
Files Must be 300dpi at actual size. This means that if you want your graphic to be 12 inches wide, you will need a file that is at least 3600 pixels wide to start with. If you are creating your graphics in Adobe Illustrator, Freehand, or other vector-based software, then you just need to set your document size to the size you want your graphic to be. A 300dpi flattened TIFF in RGB is the best way to send your apparel graphic. Even if you have it in a layout or vector-based program, outputting a hi-resolution TIFF will be the best way to ensure a speedy turnaround and avoid extra file prep charges. If you are sending a vector-based EPS or PDF, makesure you convert your type to outlines to avoid missing fonts.

What is your turnaround time?
Typically this is 8 business days for the services that we do in house. If we are extremely busy then this may be longer and we will let you know.
How many colors can you print?
We print up to 8 different ink colors at a time in a location under many circumstances. We can use several techniques to increase the number of perceived colors in a print. We can produce full color prints on both light and dark colored garments.
Do dark shirts cost more?
Yes. Dark shirts are more expensive to buy blank, and they require an under base to make most colors opaque.
Will the printing fade on my shirts after a few washings?
No. Our plastisol screen printed t-shirts are very durable and the print will outlive the garment. The same applies to water base although water base does become more 'distressed' looking after the initial wash. The hand or feel of the ink may soften with numerous washings.
Can I select different colors within an order?
You can mix size & color within an order. Your piece price will be reflective of the selection of whites or colors.
What kind of shirts do you have? Are they good quality?
We sell 100% cotton, Heavyweight 5.6 oz., Preshrunk T-shirts, unless the customer requests a more expensive and/or heavier weight t-shirt. Prices listed on our website are for good, quality 100% cotton t-shirts. You can get 50/50 t-shirts if that is what you want, however the price for 50/50's are the same as 100% cotton t-shirts.
What are screen/setup charges?
We use screens to print images onto shirts. A screen is needed for each color of the image of the design for each side.. Screen set ups generally run $15-$25ea, and would usually include color separations and a film positive.
Do you carry american apparel?
Yes we do! We also carry Tulex, Gildan, Anvil, Hanes and Fruit of the Loom
